Local Beer Update

Blog Newsletter March 2021

Well, with the long winter is finally starting to show signs of change (he said hopefully), my mind turns to the first indicator of Spring – St. Paddy’s Day. Although I won’t miss the green beer, I will miss the crowded Irish pub, the traditional dancers, the corned beef and cabbage, and of course at least 1 Guinness.

Locally speaking, there are a number of new beers out that are worth knowing about. Firstly, GoodLot just released their first Hefeweizen, and we are big fans. Next they will be releasing an Irish Stout (just in time for St.Paddy’s). Caledon Hills now has an India Pale Lager available through their online beer shop/ home delivery. Badlands just put together a mix pack of IPAs and it sold out immediately. For the hazy, juicy IPA fans, this mix-pack would be worth pursuing. New beer is uploaded to their website on Friday nights, so be sure to check back then. Sonnen Hill is now offering ‘Mosaic’ a hoppy pale ale and they offer delivery at a reasonable fee. They also have some interesting specialty “one-offs”.

And of course, The Taphouse is open again and is offering the best selection of rotating beers for delivery or pick-up.

We have been keeping busy by hosting some virtual beer tours. We arrange to delivery special beers (and sometimes charcuterie) to do an on-line beer experience. We have different themes, supporting many local breweries and cideries. If you are interested in booking something for you and your friends, reach out to us at hefe@onbt.ca to learn more. This option will soon be available on our website as well. Stay tuned!
